Abba Father loves you – Part 1

We casually use love in everyday phrases. I love chocolate. I love cars. I love cycling. I love reading. I love movies. We love celebrities we have never met, and we love fictional characters in our favorite sitcoms. We say that we fall in love and we fall out of love. Human love can be so fickle and circumstantial. It is an emotion that can swing like a pendulum between love and contempt, day-to-day.

Isn’t it just marvelous, miraculous, and comforting to know that God’s love for us is not the same as human love? God loves differently. God’s love is so vast and always constant.

It is difficult for people to show unconditional love. We all have our own needs, preferences, and examples of love, that determine the way we express love to others. Without realizing it, we show love towards people who make it easy for us to love them. It is easy to love the kind, warm-hearted, sweet, and well-behaved person. We withhold love from challenging people or those who have hurt us in some way. Human love is sometimes bound to performance. If you meet a certain standard of criteria, I will give you a certain degree of love.

The dilemma further, is that we measure God’s love for us using these human standards. Equating God’s love with the amount of love or lack of love we receive from firstly our parents, then other family members, close friends, and even our spouse or partner is a natural thing to do. But, it is a fallible system to use. People are naturally flawed, selfish, not perfect, and just human. We make mistakes, we disappoint and we like receiving more than we like giving.

Fortunately, there is good news. God is perfect. He has no flaws or weaknesses. He always speaks the truth, because He is truth. He cannot lie, or contradict His word. He never changes. He does not need anything or anyone else to complete Him. He is not bound by time or circumstances. John writes in 1 John 4:8 that God IS love. Because He is all of the above, His love does not come from a place of brokenness or imperfection. God loves you always. He loves you today with the same intensity, intention, drive, unfathomable capacity, and measure, as yesterday, and forever to come.

1 John‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭AMP “The one who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. [He is the originator of love, and it is an enduring attribute of His nature.]”

You may ask: ”How can you be sure?” The proof is in many scriptures that share and explain God’s love. Jesus demonstrated that love through His actions and crucifixion, and people testify about God’s love daily. God is so amazing that He loved you before you ever knew of Him.

1 John‬ ‭4:10‬ ‭TPT‬‬ “This is love: He loved us long before we loved him. It was his love, not ours. He proved it by sending his Son to be the pleasing sacrificial offering to take away our sins.”

Nothing in this world or nothing you can ever do can separate you from the love of God. Sin can separate us from the presence of God, but not from His love. God loves you regardless of your past, shortcomings, mistakes, doubts, or fears. You cannot earn more of God’s love, because His love is complete. He even loves all people who hate Him, opposes Him, and chooses not to acknowledge Him as Yahweh.

Please note that I am not writing about salvation here. Salvation can only be obtained through the belief in Christ as the Son of God, Who died for our sins. God loves the WHOLE WORLD and that is why He offered His Son to pay the price for our salvation.

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:35‬ ‭TPT‬‬ “Who could ever separate us from the endless love of God’s Anointed One? Absolutely no one! For nothing in the universe has the power to diminish his love toward us. Troubles, pressures, and problems are unable to come between us and heaven’s love. What about persecutions, deprivations, dangers, and death threats? No, for they are all impotent to hinder omnipotent love,”

God is not your absent father, your critical mother, your judging friend, your moody teenager, or your controlling boss. He is your Heavenly Father. He loves you fiercely, extravagantly, endlessly, powerfully, and unconditionally. He longs to lavish you with His love. Open your heart and mind to receive His perfect love.

I pray that during this week you will shift all preconceived ideas about His love towards you, aside. I pray that you will discover and experience your Abba Father’s love in a unique and unforgettable way. May it flood and warm your soul and spirit, healing all hurts, doubts, and fears. I pray that you will truly know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are deeply loved by the Most High God. I finally pray for us as Paul wrote:

Ephesians‬ ‭3:17b-19‬ ‭AMP‬‬ ”And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love, be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love]; and [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself].” Amen.

Stay resolute my friend.
