Abba Father loves you – Part 2

God’s love is continuous. It does not have a specific beginning and will never end. It has always been there. God loved you already, while He was designing and forming you in your mother’s womb. His love follows you to eternity. It is everlasting. Before you even knew of God, He loved you.

Jeremiah‬ ‭31:3‬ ‭AMP “The LORD appeared to me ( Israel) from ages past, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness, I have drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you.”‬‬

God’s love never dries up. People can love us with less intensity because of tiredness, emotional hurts, or mental disease. Our emotional tanks or capacity to love can become depleted due to circumstances. God’s tank, however, does not run empty. His love remains full and complete.

God’s love is not just an emotion, but a definite action. We read all through scripture how God demonstrated His love. God’s biggest evidence of His love, is the gift of His Son Jesus Christ. That is the essential message of the Bible. It is the ultimate love story between God and man. God’s pursuit of man to be His people and for us to serve Him as Lord. God so LOVED the world that He GAVE…

John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭AMP “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

Romans‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭AMP “But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

God’s love is sacrificial. He sacrificed His Son, to spare us the punishment of sin and provide us with that access to Heaven and an unbroken relationship with Himself. He did it for the whole world because of His great love for us. How often are you willing to sacrifice your wants, needs, preference, comfort, and dreams for those you love? Never mind sacrificing your own life to save someone you love?

John‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭TPT “For the greatest love of all is a love that sacrifices all. And this great love is demonstrated when a person sacrifices his life for his friends.”

I think the closest we can understand or get some small indication of God’s sacrificial love, is the love of a parent towards their child. Still, we do not come close to fathom how God’s love spared us from all damnation, pain, hell, punishment, distress, and desolation, through His Son. Just take a moment to think about the magnitude of that action and how it exemplifies God’s love for you. We all deserve to die as justice for our sins. But, Jesus willfully died for us on the cross to pay the price, because He loves us indescribably. Jesus was God’s extravagant gift to express His extravagant love for us.

1 John‬ ‭4:9-10‬ ‭AMP “By this the love of God was displayed in us, in that God has sent His [One and] only begotten Son [the One who is truly unique, the only One of His kind] into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation [that is, the atoning sacrifice, and the satisfying offering] for our sins [fulfilling God’s requirement for justice against sin and placating His wrath].”

Jesus rose from the dead after three days, conquering death and Satan. That is love. God’s love offers everlasting life and freedom from everlasting punishment for our sins, through Jesus. Realizing the magnitude of that love not only gives me a warm, thankful feeling, but it also prompts me to respond with: “Yes, Lord, I acknowledge You as Lord and Saviour!” It also drives me to reciprocate His love with obedience to His word and to follow His example.

1 John‬ ‭5:3‬ ‭AMP “For the [true] love of God is this: that we habitually keep His commandments and remain focused on His precepts. And His commandments and His precepts are not difficult [to obey].”

1 Corinthians‬ ‭16:14‬ ‭AMP “Let everything you do be done in love [motivated and inspired by God’s love for us].”

Our love for God is further evident in the love and kindness shown to others. Jesus gave the new commandment, which in essence states that we should love God and love people.

Maybe you have never made the decision to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. But, after reading this you want to declare your belief in Jesus, and the price He paid for you on the cross. Then pray with me. Lord, thank you for sending Jesus to atone for my sins. I declare that I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and invite Him into my life to be my Lord and Savior. Thank you for Your great love. Amen

My additional prayer for us this week is that we will continue to experience a new measure as well as tangible encounters of the vastness of God’s love for us. Lord, may we be reminded of Your great sacrifice as the ultimate expression of Your love. We are so grateful for Jesus Christ. May we express our love back to you through obedience and faithfulness in all you ask us to do. May we show more love to others in small and big actions, words, and not just feelings. Prepare our hearts to grow more in our understanding of how to love others. We love You. Amen

Stay resolute my friend.
