God Who sees you

There is one scripture in the Bible where God is named; El Roi. It is after Hagar fled from Sarai to the wilderness. The Angel of the Lord found her, spoke to her, and proclaimed a blessing over her descendants. God had seen her suffering. She experienced how God was looking after her, showed compassion, and understood her. She called God; Jehovah El Roi.

“Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, “You are God Who Sees”; for she said, “Have I not even here [in the wilderness] remained alive after seeing Him [who sees me with understanding and compassion]?” Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi (Well of the Living One Who Sees Me); it is between Kadesh and Bered.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭16:13-14‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Do you perhaps feel alone? Do you feel like you are always getting the short end of life? Do you feel unworthy? Do you feel forgotten? Do you feel deeply hurt or disappointed? Have you experienced great pain, atrocities, betrayal, or suffering?

El Roi means God Who sees me, He is aware, He never sleeps, He is the great omnipresent God.

Your Heavenly Father is El Roi. The ever-present God. He saw your past, sees your present, and will continue to see all of your future. He saw it all. Witnessed it all. He is intensely aware of any pain, injustice, or suffering you have ever experienced. He saw the violence. He saw the betrayal. He saw the deceit. He saw the plotting behind your back. He saw the selfishness. He still sees. Even if people do not believe you, God saw, and He knows.

“The eyes of the LORD are in every place, Watching the evil and the good [in all their endeavors].”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭15:3‬ ‭AMP‬‬

We do not always understand why suffering or bad things happen to good people or people who do not deserve it. Suffering is, unfortunately, part of our life here on earth, and nobody is exempted from it. But remember that God has overcome the world and the enemy. He was there with you through every heartache and every storm. Always by your side, never moving His gaze away from you. He sees YOU. All of you. God promises healing, restoration, justice, vindication, freedom, forgiveness, and joy because of His Son Jesus Christ. He says that vengeance is His and that all things concealed will be made known. God will work it all out because nobody knows and loves, as He does.

You might be in the hospital right now, with no one allowed to visit you. You might have a loved one in the hospital now, and you are not allowed to visit them. COVID-19 has put a lot of restrictions on who we can see. Remember, God sees them and you. He watches over all of us with deep affection and care.

Where you look, your focus will be. As God’s gaze is on you, turn your focus on Him too. Look to The One Who is your source and answer. Look to the One Who always watches over you and never sleeps. Psalm 121 says it best.

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills [of Jerusalem]— From where shall my help come? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Will neither slumber [briefly] nor sleep [soundly]. The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your life. The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in [everything that you do] From this time forth and forever.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭121:1-8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

God sees you and watches over you. No one sees you more than He does. He knows your innermost thoughts, needs, desires, worries, questions, and secrets. He acknowledges you, loves you, values you, and does not ignore you. He has not forgotten you. Not only is He aware of you, your life, and all of your circumstances, but He is involved and part of every detail. God is mindful of you. You are not just a fleeting thought, but the reason for His love, Son, and the call to spend eternity with Him. Rest in the knowledge and peace of your God, El Roi.

Stay resolute my friend.
