To please God does not mean a life of strife, strain, or self-effort. It is not trusting in your way, ability, or plans but trusting God above all. Trust is synonymous with faith. Trust implies an intimate relationship. It is a Father stretching out His hand and asking: “Will you trust Me in everything?”
Proverbs 3:5-6 TPT “Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.”
Trust is where we surrender our desires, ideas, anxieties, and burdens onto God and enter His rest. How can we rest and not worry and take matters into our own hands? Because we can trust God to be God. He can handle every situation completely. When we do not see the end, the way through, or the light at the end of the tunnel, we trust in the God that is always by our side. The God Who sees all knows all and remains in control. He holds our past, present, and future in His hand. We trust the God of miracles, Who is limitless, and Whose love and mercy knows no end. Your situation and circumstances may seem impossible to change or improve, but nothing is impossible for God. Trust in God and His ways, and not in any natural outcome.
Isaiah 26:3-4 AMP “You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]. Trust [confidently] in the LORD forever [He is your fortress, your shield, your banner], For the LORD GOD is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].”
How can you trust someone if you do not know them? It is impossible to have trust without a relationship. Our trust grows as our relationship with our Heavenly Father deepens. To deepen our relationship and subsequent trust, we need to spend time in God’s presence, in His Word, and allow God to do what only He can. God’s faithfulness, or trustworthiness, is most evident when we experience it for ourselves. How has God been faithful in your past? He still is that same God in your current circumstance and will remain so for all eternity.
Psalms 9:10 TPT “May everyone who knows your mercy keep putting their trust in you, for they can count on you for help no matter what. O Lord, you will never, no never, neglect those who come to you.”
Let Your Heavenly Father be Lord in your life. That is ultimate trust. What do you need to surrender to God? What do you have to lose if you put your trust wholeheartedly in The Lord of Lords? There is only so much we can do in our own strength and way. These efforts usually lead to stress, anxiety, frustration, exhaustion, disappointment, failure, and pain. When we put our trust in the God Who promises comfort, peace, joy, strength, perseverance, grace, rest, hope, victory, and freedom, we find a deep connection with our Creator and Heavenly Father. We find a life that has meaning, purpose, and power to push back the darkness, make a difference, and focuses on promises and rewards that are eternal.
God wants you to trust Him completely. I encourage you to take hold of His outstretched hand and say: ”Yes Lord, I trust You with all that I am. Have Your way in my life.” With a smile of love, He will never relax His hold on you.
Stay resolute my friend.
