His hand holds mine

When you place your hand in someone else’s, it represents a relationship, closeness, and trust. Think about holding your spouse’s, boyfriend’s, girlfriend’s, or your child’s hand. The closest we can maybe come to understand God’s hand is when a parent holds a toddler’s hand. The parent guides the child’s steps, keeps her close, protects her from harm, and prevents her from stumbling over uneven terrain. It paints a similar picture, but God’s hand is not just any hand. His hand is so much more.

The Hebrew word for hand, yâd, is figuratively defined as power, means, and direction. God’s hand is ultimate power, ultimate strength, protection, unending provision, and careful guidance whenever we might need it. Do you need direction? Do you need help? Do you need protection? Do you need a display of power or deliverance from God? God can give you exactly what you need today. Just ask Him and trust Him.

There are numerous verses in the Bible that mention the right hand of God. In Hebrew, right refers to the side of a person which is usually stronger and more dexterous. Locally, the right hand also indicates the south. The south often referred to the wilderness, or Egypt, where God’s people were oppressed or experienced a desert season. It was usually then that God’s deliverance and mighty power would be experienced.

Many of us are enduring wilderness seasons at present. Expect God to be there with you through it all. He is your deliverance and power during this season. It is in wilderness seasons you can experience miraculous provision, faith, and reliance on God. You see His power in the small things because you have nowhere else to turn, or nothing else to cling to. It is in this time that you need to put your hand in His and keep your grip on Him.

Psalms‬ ‭63:8‬ ‭AMP‬‬ “My soul [my life, my very self] clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.”

Do not worry if you might lose your grip or stumble and fall. God will never allow the righteous to be cast down. God will hold on to you and sustain you.

Hebrews‬ ‭13:5‬b TPT‬‬ ”For hasn’t he promised you, “I will never leave you alone, never! And I will not loosen my grip on your life!”

The Bible talks about man’s right hand being deceitful and false. If you have been hurt by people in the past, even by close family or friends that were supposed to have been trustworthy and loving towards you, do not fret. God is not the same. He is true to His character and cannot lie or go against His Word. The right hand of God is significant and represent’s His ultimate power and authority. The righteous right hand of God is indicative of His power, justice, victory, and salvation. Other scriptures further mention the right hand of God as a symbol of His protection, presence, saving power, the defeat of God’s enemies, His mighty works, and of judgment.

Exodus‬ ‭15:6‬ ‭AMP “Your right hand, O LORD, is glorious in power; Your right hand, O LORD, shatters the enemy.”‬‬

Isaiah‬ ‭41:10-11‬ ‭AMP “Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’ Indeed, all those who are angry with you will be put to shame and humiliated; Those who strive against you will be as nothing and will perish.”‬‬

I do not know what you are facing at the moment, but God is almighty and powerful. He can give you justice, victory, save you from your enemies, protect you, and do the miraculous. God is able to do it all. He can and wants to because You are His. You are in His hands, and His hand is upon you because you are His child. As a child of God, He has written your name in the palms of His hands. His hands were also pierced for our transgressions so He could be our Savior.

When you place your hand in His, thus trusting Him with all aspects of your life, remember your salvation, protection, and victory. God’s hand is gentle and powerful. He is with you, and You are in the best place you can be. In the hands of Almighty God. He holds you tight, gives you the strength to carry on, and encourages you with His love as He guides your next step.

Psalms‬ ‭139:9-10‬ ‭AMP‬‬ “If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will take hold of me.”

The right hand is also indicative of a position of importance or honor. It is the place where Jesus Christ sits. Jesus Christ is exalted at the right hand of God. Jesus Christ rules every authority at the right hand of God. Jesus continues His work from His position at the right hand of God.

Ephesians‬ ‭1:20-23‬ ‭AMP‬‬ “which He produced in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion [whether angelic or human], and [far above] every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and world but also in the one to come. And He put all things [in every realm] in subjection under Christ’s feet, and appointed Him as [supreme and authoritative] head over all things in the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills and completes all things in all [believers].”

Because we are in Christ Jesus, we also sit with Christ and have authority over the enemy and all his attacks. When you feel afraid, remember that you are seated with Jesus in heavenly places. You are seated in Christ at the right hand of the Father. You have authority and victory over Satan. No evil can prevail against you!

Ephesians‬ ‭2:6‬ ‭AMP‬‬ “And He raised us up together with Him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [because we are] in Christ Jesus,”

Do not lose hope, my friend. Put your hand inside God’s. Trust Him. He is always holding you and remains in control. Stand strong, with confidence that God is always by your side. You have victory, power, guidance, salvation, provision, deliverance, might, protection, justice, and strength, in the God Who’s hand is holding yours. He will never let go!

Stay resolute my friend.
